Easter Weekend 2010
Our Easter weekend was filled with great weather, spending time with family and friends and celebrating Resurrection Sunday at the sunrise service in DC. Camden was old enough this year to get into the "commercial" side of Easter with the Easter Bunny, Egg hunts and Easter baskets and seemed to really enjoy that side of the holiday of course!
We went to the 1st Saturday for April which was an Easter theme.
He LOVED the Easter Bunny and was more than happy to give him a big hug!
As well as the dog that was walking around too!
He made bunny ears and was proud to wear them most of the evening. He also is wearing his monkey as you can see. I have always had mixed feelings about those "leash" type things and said that I would never use one. However, anyone that knows Camden knows that he is a quick moving little boy and he loves to run and be independent. He doesn't really like to sit in the stroller anymore and prefers to walk like a big boy. So the monkey is the alternative and he actually will ask to wear his monkey when we go out now. So, whatever your opinion of the monkey is, it doesn't matter! It works for us and it makes him (and his momma) very happy!

So there is a story to his outfit. I had ironed his Easter outfit the night before and laid it on his dresser. I thought that I would grab the outfit when I got him out of bed in the morning and just change him in the car once we got to DC since the service started so early. We had to leave the house around 5:15am and I got Cam out of bed and tried to keep him asleep as we went downstairs and to the car. Needless to say we were half way down the road and I looked at Jon and said "I forgot Camden's Easter outfit!" And to top it off he was in the WORST mis-matched pajamas ever! He was wearing his Texas shirt, black and blue striped bottoms and sandals! Haha, what a look! We had a good laugh and then I felt bad that he had to walk around the city with all the other kids decked out in their Easter best!
He found his Easter basket in his room after we got home!
Playing in the water table in the afternoon with his buddy Logan.
Easter Egg hunt time! He was more worried about finding the egg and then eating what was inside right away.
Oops! Jon and I stepped outside for a few minutes and look who dumped everything out and was pushing the M&Ms in faster than he could chew!
We had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating so much and we are so grateful for what was done for us on the cross so many years ago. As Camden gets older we are excited to know that he will be able to comprehend the true meaning of Easter and will come to cherish for himself what was done for him. Hope you all had a blessed time of celebrating with friends and family.
