Another Day in Paradise

Paradise......maybe. I guess it is all based on perception! I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband and an incredible baby boy who makes my life complete. We live a simple yet cherished life and enjoy spending time together as a family. As long as we are all together it really is.......just another day in paradise.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!

We continued our tradition today by going to Gaver tree farm to cut down our own Christmas tree. Jon and I both recalled how last year Camden was so little and we walked through the farm looking for the perfect tree with him in the baby bjorn. What a difference this year! He loved walking through the field and in no time we found the perfect tree!

My sexy man cutting down our tree for us!

And......ta-da! Done in no time at all!

All tied up and ready to go!

The finished product......we say each year that the tree we get is our favorite! And, yes we said it again this year.

We started a new tradition this year as well. My mom found the book Elf on the Shelf and it is a book that comes with a special little elf from Santa. You read it every year and bring the Elf out and he is Santa's special spy to go back and tell him if you have been naughty or nice. I didn't think that Camden would be as in to it as he was, but he LOVED it and will now be looking for his Elf, who we named Frederick, every morning. You have to "relocate" the elf every day because he "flies away" each night to report to Santa on the day and then returns to a different spot in the house. We know that Camden will come to look forward to this tradition and he really seemed to like it this first year! We love this season and will work hard to remember the true reason and the best gift we were given so many years ago by the birth of Christ!

We also put a tree in Camden's room this year. This tree is very special and will be one that he comes to appreciate I am sure. This tree belonged to Camden's Grammy .
(His Great-Grandma) This will be our first Christmas without her and what a wonderful way to remember her by placing something she enjoyed in his room for this season!
