Another Day in Paradise

Paradise......maybe. I guess it is all based on perception! I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband and an incredible baby boy who makes my life complete. We live a simple yet cherished life and enjoy spending time together as a family. As long as we are all together it really is.......just another day in paradise.

Giving Thanks

There is so much to be thankful for this year. My family, wonderful husband and son, a baby girl on the way, a warm home and friends. This year I was especially thankful for something that is not a possession or "thing." This year I am thankful for what was done for me on the cross so many years ago. Should all of the wonderful things in my life perish or disappear, would I still be thankful? My prayer is that in the midst of great tragedy and despair that I would choose to still be thankful knowing that I have been saved and that is the best gift of all. This year I am thankful that God has blessed us so immensely and that I am not facing a horrible situation. It is easy to be thankful when everything is right with the world and our lives. My prayer this season is that I would have a heart of gratitude and thanks knowing that my future is sealed and I will be spending eternity with Him.

We celebrated Thanksgiving this year in Maryland, which was a first for Jon and it has been 5 years for me. We have traveled to Texas every year to be with Jon's family but this year decided to stay home. It was wonderful celebrating with my parents and doing all of the "Maryland" things this year.

It has been a tradition to cut down our Christmas tree and decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving, so that is what we did today!

Jon has been hard at work finishing our basement before the arrival of our baby girl this February. He has done such an amazing job and I am so proud of all of the hard work he has put into this project. He did a few upgrades yesterday and made some cubbies for toys! The only parts left are finishing the bathroom and laundry room as well as some detail work. But his office and the playroom are done! Prior to this picture it was just a straight wall across. He did the shelves himself. We are also putting up Waynes coating along the bottom half of the wall....a detail that will be done once the bathroom and laundry room are done.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, family and yummy food! Now it is on to my favorite holiday....Christmas!
