Another Day in Paradise

Paradise......maybe. I guess it is all based on perception! I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband and an incredible baby boy who makes my life complete. We live a simple yet cherished life and enjoy spending time together as a family. As long as we are all together it really is.......just another day in paradise.

Water Baby Weekend

This weekend was filled with lots of yard work, home projects and swimming! We were at the pool every day and Camden LOVED it. He truly is a water baby.....he loves the bath and loves the pool even more. He has no fear, which is a good thing I guess, but it also means that he has no regard for the water and has no idea that he can fall in. He walks right up to it and takes a big step in!
He kept wanting to "get down" while I was holding him......I am not quite sure where he thought the might go if I let him go.

Daddy and Cam hanging out on the step to the big pool. The baby pool is closed because they have to fix the pump.....they assured us it would only take a few days but it was closed all weekend. I know he will love it once they get it fixed. He will be able to stand up in it and that should be fun to see.
He splashes like a crazy boy and loves to get water in his face.....and all over us!

He really likes his float and by the end of the weekend he would see us getting it out and knew that we were headed to the pool and would ge all excited. It is a little car and he really enjoys just hanging out in it.....we ended up taking the cabana off. It was impeding his ability to lean over and get his face wet!

This is really not a flattering picture of me, however I couldn't resist putting one up of the official start of summer. It isn't summer until there is corn on the cob, eating outside and grilling steak. Camden obviously was not nearly as excited about the corn......until I cut it off of the cob for him.

This weekend we also set up Camden's water table. This was a birthday gift from his Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Krista and cousins. We had to open it a little early, he would get so excited when he saw the box in the garage and it seemed like a good weekend to set it up. He loved it and it is the perfect height for him to explore . Thanks family in Colorado!

Here are some videos of us from the pool. He wanted to jump in to me and he loved tipping his floating car to the side to get his face wet.

Great weekend and it was a fun first Memorial Day for our family!

The best Mother's Day

I was so excited this year for Mother's Day as it was my first! It was such a great feeling to have my sweet baby boy here in person to celebrate this Mother's Day. It was a wonderful day and Jon worked hard to make it special for me. I was treated so well:

* Slept in

* Camden fed and changed

* Breakfast made for me and kitchen cleaned up

* Gorgeous flowers

* Thoughtful card and gifts (everything I mentioned to him for ideas....he remembered them all! What a great guy!)

* Church with the family

* Yummy lunch, made for me again!

* Baby napped

* Fantastic dinner at Outback! Totally worth the wait!

He was waiting so patiently at Outback. He caught a cold this weekend which mad me so sad that he was sick on Mother's Day.....but he was such a trooper and really hung in there during the crazy long wait at Outback!

The day was great and it would have been even without all of those things. Camden is such a gift and I am so thankful that God has entrusted motherhood to me. The days are long and hard sometimes, but the year has been so short. I love my Camden to pieces and he is the reason that I was able to celebrate this Mother's Day with such joy. A huge piece of that joy could not be possible without acknowledging the fantastic mother that I have. She has taught me so much about life, how to love and how to live a life of humilty and selflessness. Mom I love you so much and thank you for being the best example. You have shown me that mothering does not stop just because children grow into adults. You have continued to mother me over the years with the balance of love, support and friendship that is needed to connect as children grow. Thanks Mom and Happy Mother's Day!

Cool Whip Muscle Man Cam and Raggedy Andy

Last night Camden put on a great show for my parents, Jon and me. He had us laughing so hard and he loved all of the attention and loud cheers and claps! I give him Cool Whip out of the can on his high chair sometimes for a fun and messy treat. I let him play around in it and eat it and then he goes straight into the bath. He loves it and knows that it is a treat. Last night while we were finishing dinner I gave some to him on his tray. He started to play and eat it and then started making this "muscle man" noise really loudly! We got it on video and he kept it up the entire time we were eating and of course the louder we would cheer the more intense he would get! Check out the video.

Last night Camden also entertained us by getting into a wrestling match with Raggedy Andy. A friend made a life-size Raggedy Andy doll for Camden when he was born and I just brought it out yesterday morning to see what he would do with it. Haha....boy was I surprised. He acted like the doll was real and went after him! So we decided to have Cool Whip Muscle Man Cam and Andy duke it out. Camden really got into it and took Andy down! Here is the video.

We had so much fun with him last night and his personality just seems to get bigger and bigger! I would love to think that it is the fantastic combo of his mommy and daddy that created this little dynamic stud muffin......but truthfully there is so much of just plain Camden that there are only traces of Jon and I in him. He is so full of life and we LOVE it!

A break from the rain

It has been so gloomy here the past 10 days that we have only had a few hours here and there to get out and play. Camden has been very bored and was ready to get out and enjoy his swingset and backyard.......as was his mommy! For the past week we have only been able to look out the window and see the wonderful gift that Camden's Pa-paw made for him. Jon's dad used his incredible talent and made a sign for Camden that says "Camden's Yard" instead of Camden Yards like the baseball stadium in Baltimore. Jon placed it above his swingset and we LOVE it! Pa-paw did such an amazing job and it looks so nice. You can see it when you pull into the neighborhood and as we pull into the driveway! Thank you so much Pa-paw for making this for him....and thanks Mam-maw for shipping it!

Right before we had all of this rain we had a crazy heat wave the end of April and we had temps almost near 100 degrees. Since the pool isn't open yet I filled this tub up with water for Camden to cool off!

Glad that the weather seems to be clearing up and hopefully we will be able to be outside much more in the days to come! He is an outside baby all the way and loves to be busy and active whenever possible!
