Another Day in Paradise

Paradise......maybe. I guess it is all based on perception! I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband and an incredible baby boy who makes my life complete. We live a simple yet cherished life and enjoy spending time together as a family. As long as we are all together it really is.......just another day in paradise.

My Marathon Man!

Yesterday Jon completed his first marathon! He took part in running the Marine Corps Marathon which took him through parts of Va. and DC. This was a personal goal for him that he set back in the Spring and I was so proud to see him complete the race and accomplish this goal! He did so well.....I was worried about him just because you hear stories of perfectly healthy people having trouble finishing the race and having complications. So to say the least, I was beaming with pride and felt of sense of relief when I knew he had crossed the finish line!

Here are some pics from the day. It was a long day and Camden was such a trooper. I could never have done it without the help of my mom. It was way more complicated and difficult to get around than I thought it would be. But it was all worth it to be there to support Jon in this endeavor.

Such a boy! As soon as he saw this pile of leaves in front of the metro he had to go and jump in them!
His first metro ride.....I got him out of the stroller once we got moving and he couldn't stop jumping and dancing around he was so excited!

Waiting to cheer on daddy at mile 16. It was a little chilly in the shade but we made it and were able to hold up our signs, ring our bells and shout really loud for daddy. I even jumped in and ran with him for a few minutes while he ate the lunch meat and banana that I had for him!

AND.....he is done! Camden has Jon's medal on around his neck!

Such a proud wife!

Good job babe!

Good job honey! Words cannot communicate how proud of you I am! I am so thankful that you had the endurance, strength and ability to be able to complete this course!

Chuck E Cheese and Half Marathon!

A fun first was Camden's trip to Chuck E Cheese today! The weather here has been terrible. Very rainy and cold and so Jon and I decided that this would be the perfect time for him to experience Chuck E Cheese! To say the least he loved it.......and of course we did too. He ate lots of pizza and played games. Of course Daddy had to get in on some of the game action as well. He went from one thing to the next and really his favorite was the basketball hoops. He rode all of the toddler rides but didn't seem to impressed......haha! He wanted all of the big kid stuff so of course we tried to make that happen for him!

Enjoying his pizza......YUMMY!

He loved dancing with Chuck E!

We were on Chuck E TV!

He really liked the horse racing.........he didn't quite get how to steer the reins so Daddy had to help.

His favorite game out of all that he played.......he wanted to play this one until the tokens ran out!

Last weekend Jon and I completed the Baltimore Half Marathon which was 13.1 miles! This was a personal goal for me and I was so proud of myself that I could check this off my list. Jon was a great supporter and is actually running his first full marathon this coming weekend and Camden and I will be there to cheer him on. I had stopped training for the half about 8 weeks ago because of knee pain and the Orthopedic surg. thought it was best if I didn't run. I decided the week of the race that I really wanted to do it anyway and thought that I would give it my best. It was a personal goal for me to try to run the entire 13 miles without stopping.......not that walking is bad but it is just something I didn't want to do. And, I am so happy to say that I ran the entire 13 miles without stopping! I am still recovering from knee pain as a result but it was worth it for me to say that I did this! Here are some shots that Danny Cole got for us. They came out to cheer us on at mile 3 along with Camden and Logan.......they were so sweet to watch him for us while we ran and we were so thankful!

Pumpkin time!

Sunday afteroon we decided to take Camden to the pumpkin patch to collect our fall pumpkins to decorate! We went to Gaver tree farm which is where we get our Christmas tree every year. This is their 3rd year doing the pumpkin patch and it was great! It was perfect for Camden's age and he had a blast. It was a gorgeous afternoon and it wasn't too crowded so we were able to really take our time.

He loved the hayride out to the pumpkin patch and enjoyed walking through the field and looking at all of the pumpkins. He didn't really want to touch them, I think he thought they were a weird texture.

He picked out his own little pumpkin daddy carried it for him.

Walking with Ne-ne to the kids area and corn maze.

WEEEEEE!!!! He had lots of fun going down all of the slides with Daddy and G-pa!

This was his favorite part.......he absolutely loved playing in the straw. I thought he would hate because he is not a big fan of different textures but he surprised us. We are still finding hay in the diaper!

A baby after his Mam-maws heart on the tractor. He is a tractor boy......anything that has a steering wheel and looks dangerous he is all about it!
