Another Day in Paradise

Paradise......maybe. I guess it is all based on perception! I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband and an incredible baby boy who makes my life complete. We live a simple yet cherished life and enjoy spending time together as a family. As long as we are all together it really is.......just another day in paradise.

New Orleans

We had a great time in New Orleans visiting our friends Darryl and Heather. They were nice enough to let us stay with them and we really enjoyed getting to hang out together. Jon was on a business trip the first part of the week and extended his trip so that Camden and I could fly down on Thursday.
We did so many fun things including checking one thing off of my list for 2009. I wanted to eat something I have never had before and I did! I ate crawfish! I can't say that I loved it....I would certainly never order it at a restaurant, but it was okay. I don't like seeing eyeballs on things that I am getting ready to eat.

We also did a good bit of walking around despite how cold the weather was. Jon and I have been to New Orleans before, but this was obviously Camden's first trip. We walked around Jackson Square and took in the sights.

Also a must do.....we stopped by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's house! You could have walked right by it and never known that it was theirs which kind of surprised me....I thought it would really stand out, but it didn't.....it was kind of fun just to see where they live!

Of course we had to stop by Cafe du Monde and eat some of those yummy beingets (sp?) and we let Camden get some sugar on his nose! I would eat those things every day of my life if I could!

We also took a walk around Audubon Park and Darryl took over and pushed the stroller in style for awhile!

It just so happens that my birthday is the 12th of January and Darryl's is the 15th and so we have kind of made it a tradition to celebrate together! Darryl's dad mailed him a homemade cake and it was the best cake ever, thanks for sharing it Darryl!

This video is of Camden riding in the backseat of the car on a trip back from lunch one day. He really got on a giggling spree and we decided to record him! I kept leaning down and kissing his hand and he thought that was really funny I guess! Check it out....it is too cute!

An Evening with the boys!

Last night I had the privilege of babysitting 2 of my most favorite boys.....in addition to my precious baby boy as well! Camden and I had a great night hanging out with Caden and Landon Smith, the two boys that I used to nanny for before I had Camden! I was so excited to see them again and we had so much fun together! We played in the basement with all of their new things from Santa, had a yummy dinner and birthday brownies for Zah (me) and I took a try at the Wii with Caden playing Mariokart. I miss them so much and I was happy to be a part of their life once again if only for an evening. Caden and Landon will always hold 2 very special pieces of my heart and every chance I get to spend with them is a joy! I love them so much and hope that my Camden grows to become a good friend of Caden and Landon!

Take a look at our fun night together!

Time for a haircut!

Once again my precious baby big has been mistaken for a girl! I was in the grocery store on Sunday and in the 30 minutes that I was in there with Camden, 3 people said how cute my baby girl was. By the third person I knew once again what I MUST do. It was time for Camden to get a professional haircut. I had trimmed his hair once myself about a month ago and it has really grown. So, we took him to get his hair cut and he did great! He didn't fuss or cry, he sat on my lap like a big boy! I was so proud of him and here he is during the process and tonight after his bath. He looks so much older and now there is not one bit of brown hair left.....it is all blonde!
