Another Day in Paradise

Paradise......maybe. I guess it is all based on perception! I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband and an incredible baby boy who makes my life complete. We live a simple yet cherished life and enjoy spending time together as a family. As long as we are all together it really is.......just another day in paradise.

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!

We continued our tradition today by going to Gaver tree farm to cut down our own Christmas tree. Jon and I both recalled how last year Camden was so little and we walked through the farm looking for the perfect tree with him in the baby bjorn. What a difference this year! He loved walking through the field and in no time we found the perfect tree!

My sexy man cutting down our tree for us!

And......ta-da! Done in no time at all!

All tied up and ready to go!

The finished product......we say each year that the tree we get is our favorite! And, yes we said it again this year.

We started a new tradition this year as well. My mom found the book Elf on the Shelf and it is a book that comes with a special little elf from Santa. You read it every year and bring the Elf out and he is Santa's special spy to go back and tell him if you have been naughty or nice. I didn't think that Camden would be as in to it as he was, but he LOVED it and will now be looking for his Elf, who we named Frederick, every morning. You have to "relocate" the elf every day because he "flies away" each night to report to Santa on the day and then returns to a different spot in the house. We know that Camden will come to look forward to this tradition and he really seemed to like it this first year! We love this season and will work hard to remember the true reason and the best gift we were given so many years ago by the birth of Christ!

We also put a tree in Camden's room this year. This tree is very special and will be one that he comes to appreciate I am sure. This tree belonged to Camden's Grammy .
(His Great-Grandma) This will be our first Christmas without her and what a wonderful way to remember her by placing something she enjoyed in his room for this season!

A Texas Thanksgiving!

We took our annual trip to Texas for Thanksgiving this year. We were missing part of the Clinton family as our Denver relatives were not able to make it. Which may have turned out for the better considering that we got a bout of the stomach flu while we were there. Everyone got sick......Camden got it first and then Jon and I had it over Thanksgiving and felt just well enough to make the flight home. Ugghhhhh, what a trip it was. We did have a great time but as a result of the sick bug we didn't have the chance to take many photos. Here are just a few shots from the week.

He will jump at any chance to dance.....this guy was playing outside of where we had breakfast one morning. I think Camden drew more of a crowd than the guy!

Looking at the fountain with his Aunt Melissa!

Soooooo excited about his Handy Manny tools that his Mamaw got him!

Feeding the ducks at a park we stopped at.

Playing in the grass with Mamaw.......he loved just being outside and getting dirty!

We had a good time but we wish that the stomach bug would have stayed away.........we loved spending time with the family and they took great care of us. We miss them already and wish we could see them more often.

Fun in the sun!

This past week we were able to spend some time with my parents at their timeshare in Clearwater Beach, FL. We had so much fun and Camden really loved the sand, pool and sun! Here are LOTS of pictures for you to enjoy and they will go in order from our first day there.

He was interested in the ocean but as soon as the waves started to come he would run!

Eating dinner at The Pub....it was so nice to sit right on the water and watch the boats go by and pull right up to the dock where we were eating. After we were done our waiter let Camden feed the catfish in the water with the leftover food. He loved it!

He was ready to hit the beach and pool! We just needed to have breakfast first! (check out the Elmo slippers that had to make the trip with us!)

This bird hung out in front of our condo all week! It would just walk back and forth up and down the beach.

We played putt-putt a few times. He was more into getting the balls out of the hole and giving them to everyone!

Every morning after breakfast we took a walk on the beach. Camden really liked putting the shells in his bucket that he would fine. We even found a really big snail inside a shell. We kept it all week and then put it back in the sand.......I wanted to find a way to take it home but we couldn't figure out how that would work on the plane!

Lunch at Crabby Bill's........we were able to see all of the charter boats and day cruises docked.

The pelicans waiting in front of the charter boats to see if they would be given any leftover fish.

And here is our ROCKSTAR!!!!!! We went into a little gift shop after lunch and found these kids aviator glasses. We tried them on him and he didn't take them off! So we bought them for him and he literally wore them the rest of the week whenever we went outside! Haha.....he looked so cute!

Oh ya!!!!! Who is the stud muffin now?!?!?!?!? Are you looking at me?

If you like my glasses..........check out my muscles!!!!! He seriously LOVES to do anything for the camera!

Some family pictures towards the end of the week around sunset before we went out to dinner.

It was a great trip.....thanks Mom and Dad for letting us join in the fun! We had a great time and it was fun to be together as a family.
