Another Day in Paradise

Paradise......maybe. I guess it is all based on perception! I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband and an incredible baby boy who makes my life complete. We live a simple yet cherished life and enjoy spending time together as a family. As long as we are all together it really is.......just another day in paradise.

Merry Christmas!

This year was so special as it was Camden's first Christmas. We are so blessed to have him in our life and truly he was the only gift that we needed this year! Everything else was just a bonus! We attended Christmas Eve service at a little church that is heated by a wood stove and lit by candles and lanterns......it really sets the mood for a perfect Christmas Eve service and helps to remind you of the reason we are celebrating! My Dad does the service each year. Camden looked very nice in his Christmas outfit(which somehow missed a picture for the service but, it is the same one he is wearing with Santa.) We then came back to my parent's house and did our traditional seafood dinner ! Yummy!

A few days before Christmas we took Camden to see Santa and he did great. He was very fascinated by his beard and seemed comfortable sitting on his lap for about 6 photos!

Of course we had to start the tradition and leave cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. And he must have been hungry, he gobbled them up!

Christmas morning was great.......even though I think Cam is teething OR has an ear infection because he was not really himself. He was a little cranky and fussy but I think he still really enjoyed being the center of attention and playing with his presents. He got so much.........an animal train and some clothes from Darryl and Heather, a basketball hoop and alphabet ball from Mam-maw and Pa-paw, a name train, the leap frog baby video game, and other small toys from Neilly and G-pa. He enjoys seeing me pull out all of the new toys from his basket and knows it is play time!

Santa (and family) was good to Jon and I this year as well, we had some great surprises under the tree for us too!

We had a great year and look forward to this next year ahead of us. We know it will hold many news things, surprises, challenges and ups and downs. We look ahead with great anticipation and excitement and are so thankful for our friends and family who share so many special moments with us. We love all of you! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Today was packed full with so many things, all of which involved getting ready for Christmas! This year is extra special of course because we have our precious baby Camden who will be sharing this holiday with us for the first time! We are so blessed and incredibly grateful for him and for the opportunity that we have to start all of our holiday traditions with him. One of which is getting a Christmas tree at Gaver Tree Farm. It was so cold but we searched and searched and finally found the perfect tree!

Jon cut it down while I tried to keep Camden warm! He got it down in no time and loaded it into the wagon and we were on our way!

The next thing on our list was to get Camden one of the things that we had wanted to get him for his big Christmas gift from Mommy and Daddy! We got him a Rainforest Jumperoo! He LOVES to jump and we knew that he would love this and get great use out of it! We couldn't wait until Christmas to give it to him and we knew he wouldn't know the difference anyway! We have posted some photos and check out the video of him in action!

The last thing on our list was to go home and decorate the tree! I had cooked chili in the crockpot all day and while we were decorating we got a nice winter surprise! We had our first snow. It was really just a dusting but it still counts! What a perfect day........ A decorated tree, a happy baby, chili and snow!

Camden's Haircut

While we were traveling for Thanksgiving there were quite a few people that asked if Camden was a little boy or little girl....to say the least I was offended and knew exactly what I was going to do once we got home. So.....on Sunday I cut his hair! This was his first haircut and if I do say so myself, I think I did a pretty good job! I trimmed the sides, top and back and now in my opinion there is no doubt that he is a little boy. Looking back on some older pictures it had definitely gotten a little wild and crazy and very long in spots........but still, I don't think he ever looked like a girl!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We were fortunate enough to be able to spend Thanksgiving this year in Denver with Jon's family. We had such a great time and it was the first time that some of the family had met Camden. I am just going to post a bunch of picturs with captions because there were so many things we did! Enjoy!

This was Camden's first time flying and I was so nervous....we had two separate flights each way and layovers. He was a Rockstar baby! We were so proud of him on all the the flights....he did great and was the best baby. Here are some photos of his first flying experience!

Our first night we got in around 7pm Denver time and so that was really almost 9pm for us. Camden was so tired after his traveling and he really was ready for bed. After we got him settled, Krista had gotten a little gift for each of us.....check out our matching jammies!!!!

On Monday we all went to Colorado Springs to a little amusement park called The North Pole and everything was Christmas themed. We bundled Camden up and between his Aunts, Mam-Maw and me, we all took turns watching him so that everyone got to ride some rides. Anyone that knows me well knows that I am not the dare-devil when it comes to trying rides. I hate it when my stomach feels like it is in my throat and I don't like rides that go really fast or really high. So that left me with the kiddie rides! I wasn't going to get off that easy though, and I was PRESSURED into riding some other rides that I really didn't have any desire to do.......but in the end it was fun and I am glad that I tried something new!

On Wednesday we went to Boulder so the kids could go ice skating and also do some shopping. It was absolutely beautiful being so close to the mountains and we all enjoyed the nice weather and being together! Take a look at my very talented husband taking a turn on the rink with my sister-in-law, Krista, as they danced together. I preferred to stay on ground that was dry and not slippery with Camden!

Thanksgiving Day Camden was able to participate in the tradition with his cousins of making Christmas shirts! He used his hands for the reindeer antlers and his foot for the face. He also was able to get Christmas pjs! His cousins have gotten them in years past on Christmas Eve from a surpise early visit from Santa! This year we wanted the kids to be able to wear them more than just a few days....how cute are they!

We had a great time wearing these and they were so comfy!!! Thanks a bunch Kris!
